Steamed cheeseburgers originated around 1915 in central Connecticut and have continued to be a mainstay there ever since.
A stainless steel cabinet cooks the burgers with a moist heat allowing the grease to drip away but not the flavor.
Top the burger with a thick slice of sharp cheddar cheese (which is also melted in the steamer), tomato, a slice of onion, lettuce, ketchup & mustard and you have the perfect “steamed cheeseburger”!

Enjoy the atmosphere of a 50's diner while savoring our homemade cooking! Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the diner is open daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm with extended hours on Friday & Saturday. We serve breakfast anytime and breakfast specials from 7:00 am to 10:00 am for just $2.99. We specialize in offering unique and delicious lunch specials starting at $5.99 along with our homemade soups including our signature soup, Black Bean. We also offer paninis, fresh salads, burgers, wraps and much more.
Our starter menu will tempt you with a selection of fresh sweet potato fries or homemade potato chips sprinkled with secret seasonings. We have recently introduced the "steamed cheeseburger" famous in middle Connecticut and featured on the Discovery Channel. A quarter pound burger loaded with melted white sharp cheddar cheese, you will love this burger!
Phill & Kathy love to share their family recipes for dinners such as "My grandma's meatloaf” or Phill's "Sante Fe Grilled Chicken”. Add our homemade apple crisp with ice cream for a complete dinner.
You can also enjoy our outdoor patio and view the freighters passing by on the St. Clair River.
